i'll start with a story and if you like it (which you should) you can read my thoughts at the bottom. it's like a test in honor of tanner going back to school.
tanner and i went to our stake mutual fireside sunday night kicking off this year's theme of "arise and shine forth". felt totally inspired and had lots of great ideas for our upcoming talks. one of my YW came up to me during the refreshment portion of the evening and asked,
YW: "why did you cut your hair?"
me: "because i wanted to."
YW: "oh. i thought maybe you had to have surgery or something".
aaaaand boom goes the dynamite.
now for my thoughts:
1. i fiiinally painted my nails last night and this photo makes my fingers look like stubs.

2. my cold from NYE is still here and i'm beginning to worry it's a sinus infection which makes me want to cry
3. i think i'm becoming a true LA-ian (?) by thinking it's freezing outside when it's 60 degrees. :-/
4. the trees have almost lost all of their leaves and they have finally stopped changing colors. which has made me realize that's probably why everyone loves fall so much in utah - it happens so fast that it's actually exciting.
5. i had a training this morning on how to use a scanner. a scanner. a. scannerrr.
6. i answered a phone call from someone from the hunger games today!!
7. the bcs championship game was the worst.
8. we passed up screening tickets last night to smash for couples FHE and don't even regret it. friends are fun.
9. courtney cunningham made the best dessert and i don't even remember what it was. peach plum cobbler? something plum. probably cobbler. definitely the best.
10. when playing the characters game tanner and i dominated the harry potter names: lucius malfoy, severus snape and bellatrix lestrange. mfeo
11. riding the scooter at night in january and feeling chilled and not frostbitten/hypothermic(again, ?) is a miracle.
12. mucinex-d is the only thing keeping me from ripping my nose off my face right now.
13. .... .. . . my brain just shut down.

So I am totally there with ya on #2 and #3. And this is not even because your YW thought you were an outpatient, but I think your hair makes you look like a super rockstar.
