it's the weekend!

i'm obviously really loving my shakeit phone app these days. maybe it's a subtle hint for a birthday gift i would l-o-v-e to receive? just throwing it out there.

aaanyway, had our funniest adventure getting lost on our way to dinner with tanner's law school mentor last night. we missed all sorts of turns which normally doesn't lead to such scary places but this time we were in long beach and our missed turns led us into the heart of the port of long beach which just so happens to be one of the largest ports in the country. so many bridges. so many semi trucks. so many crates stacked on top of each other and so many u-turns.

after navigating our way out of that mess, we got into another one that took us into the parking lot of a historic cruise ship (the historic part was found out after freaking out thinking we really had to board one..that's how frenzied our minds were by this point).
buuut never you fear, we found our way to the reef - a beautiful restaurant set right up against the water with a beautiful view of the city. we had the nicest time talking with dennis and his wife, kacey. they are such good people and dennis has been so helpful as tanner has been applying for summer internships. we're really grateful to know them.

we ended the night watching community (our replacement for new girl. uh-oh. we quit. sorrs to all the fans that are still out there) and welcoming laura and nate money into our home! love being temporary roommates with that gal again.

we'll be spring breaking for the next week!
