more commonly known as bon iver. he won the grammy for best new artist this year and twitter went wild that "bonnie bear" won over skillrex and nicki minaj. funny funny.
this song has been one of my faves for a while now:
anyway - concert was monday and it was the greatest! first LA concert = big success.
highlights include:
- skipping through some traffic by taking the 60 instead of the 10 all the way to pomona
- an hour of driving solo with tan while pretending like he didn't have one million other school things to do at that very moment (like work on his project due on friday)
- attending our very first concert sans friends/family
-free parking close to the venue! we will forever praise cities with little traffic/easy parking (SLC!)
quick/weird meal at denny's-like-mexican restaurant with crazy water
- last people to get wristbands for the not crowded pit
- finding perfect ledge with bar to lean against above the crowd and avoiding the peek-through-everyone's-heads game just to see the concert
- standing riiiiight next to fellow LDS law student friends from j reuben clark dinner last fall (that we sat riiiight next to at that dinner as well!) and reconnecting through our favorite music artists
- remembering our very first date with talks of how bon iver performed at the SLC summer concert series and discovering tanner's great taste in music right off the bat
- learning that bon iver is not pronounced bon eye-ver or bone ee-vair but actually bon eee-ver
- hearing justin vernon's falsetto in my head for the next 24 hours straight
- getting lost in downtown LA on our way home for the 50th time. one day we will learn our way around there. that day might not be coming any time soon though.
