my favorite spring tradition in utah is going to the tulip festival and i felt so sad missing it last year. luckily, southern california has an even dreamier substitution for me that we went and explored today. we headed to carlsbad after stopping in mission viejo to help the goodwins move into their new apartment and went to the carlsbad flower fields. they had a greenhouse full of poinsettias, a maze full of sweet peas, a house just for orchids and fields and fields and fields of ranunculus flowers. i really had the best afternoon just strolling through beautiful fields of flowers with tan. he made it the best.
if i didn't take this photo myself i wouldn't believe it wasn't photoshopped.
