cousin camp

last week was the third annual burton family cousin camp and i finally was able to attend! the first year i was working full time, last year i was in LA and this year i had my own little baby to attend aaand didn't have to work! of course morris didn't actually do anything but it was still fun to watch it all go down with my little baby boyfriend.

monday was a game day full of bean bag tosses, hanky panky, and what not. 

tuesday was tie dye day thanks to brookie. the kids each brought a white shirt, wrote their name on it and chose a design and the moms all did the dying. it was fun to figure out. then they practiced talents in the afternoon for an upcoming talent show that hasn't had a date determined yet.

wednesday was zoo day at 9 am sharp though i thought it was 10 so i missed out on most of it. but mj was still nice enough to let me into the zoo ;-) and then we swam in the afternoon at nana kjars.

these little friendships are the best to watch in action. i love seeing all the grandkids become better friends with the cousins their age and also seeing the older ones take care of the little ones. it's the funnest little tradition and my sisters do a fab job at making everything happen.

there was a delay in getting started monday while we waited for the melos to arrive so mom and i hung out on the back porch with the winkelvii as we waited for everyone. those little twins kill me with their personalities and the heat was killing all of us (100+ degrees every day of the camp last week!) so best gramma linda came up with a game to keep the boys cool. she just poured water over their heads and down their backs and they were pleased as punch. then she got out the hose and hosed them down. it was so fun to watch her with them.

 choosing their buddies for the three legged race. if you ever need some good entertainment - grab some 3-5 year olds and have them try this race. funniest thing to witness.

 or just let little babies play in the backyard and keep your eye out for candid moments like this.

 my parents have the most magical backyard.

the melos stayed at mom and dad's for the week and were such good helpers with sweet baby morris. we loved watching them love on him.

and there was plenty of story time with gramma as always

watching this group of babies run from window to window watching the otters was so cuuute
